Sharon Esposito Obituary

Esposito, Sharon Darlene

Sharon (Sherry) Esposito (nee Shue) peacefully became "one with the universe" after a five-year dance with endometrial cancer. Full of exuberance, love and knowledge, Sherry was the definition of awesomeness.

Born in Chicago, Sherry spent her youth making countless friends, reading any book she could get her hands on and learning the life lessons that would make her an invaluable advisor to all who knew her. She joined the workforce by becoming an inside saleswoman for a fastener company, where she met some of her best friends. She stayed in this niche industry her entire career and gleefully retired in 2014.

Sherry loved to travel, read (especially Stephen King), journal, make memories with her friends and family, adopt stray cats, and constantly find new ways to satiate her thirst for knowledge. She was a force for good, she preferred experiences to material items, she believed that love is love, that knowledge is priceless, and she stood up against prejudice and injustice.

However, what Sherry loved more than anything was spending time with her daughter Lisa and her two grandsons: Lucas (11) and Logan (10). Whether it was weekend trips to the cabin at Woodhaven Lakes, exciting vacations, teaching her grandsons how to play poker, or just sitting at Lisa's house watching a random disaster B-movie, Sherry was the gold standard of a mother and grandmother.

In addition to her devoted daughter and grandsons, Sherry's caring heart and infectious laugh will be missed by: her sister Darlene (Andy) Shue-Feldpausch, niece Caitlyn, great aunt Catherine Mahoney, numerous cousins, her bonus children Bob and Jamie Esposito, Kathy Esposito and Violet Esposito, her bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren, her bonus extended Esposito family, her dearest friend Julie Sedlak, her beloved "Game Night Girls," her Arcon girls, innumerable friends, her cat Chloe and her grandpups Rock and Bailey. Waiting to meet Sherry in her eternal happy place will be her mother Margaret "Peggy" Mahoney, her father Charles Shue and her more than 20 beloved cats and dogs she cared for throughout her life.

Sherry always said, "everyone gets a turn on the merry go round" so we will celebrate the completion of her turn as the Irish do: lots of food, lots of drinks and a lot of her favorite "old time rock and roll!" Celebration details will be privately distributed to family and friends.

I am very sad to have just read this about Sherry. She was my boss and friend at Active Screw from 2000 to 2002. I really liked her as a person and thought she was wise, fair, and funny. A few years after we no longer worked together I remembered that she loved Chinese decor and called her up when a Chinese furniture store was closing. She was so appreciative of me telling her and she told me she picked up something. I spoke with her a number of times before she retired as I tried to touch base with her. Some time ago I tried to email her but lost touch.... : (
Sherry was a bright spot in my life, such a lovely lady.
RIP - Ken

A beautiful tribute for a beautiful person.
I´ll never forget all the fun times I had Sherry. The girls trips we took all together when Lisa and I were just teenagers. The shopping dates in the city, trips to the mall, singing oldies on the tops of our lungs....those were magical moments.
Sherry was like a 2nd mom to me.
Im devastated she´s gone, but I know we will meet again someday.
Thank you for the beautiful memories Sherry.

Lisa,
What a beautiful tribute.

You, Lucas, Logan and all her family and friends were blessed to have her in your lives.

May memories and funny stories create peace in your hearts.

One of the smartest ladies I ever knew.
I remember realizing I needed glasses when she made me try on her new
glasses, she thought they´d look good on me.
I could finally read the clock on the far wall.
I will miss her Facebook
Posts.
