Emil, Shannon Scott

Shannon (Scott) Emil died on June 16th in Waconia, Minnesota after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a month shy of her 75th birthday.

Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marlowe Scott (nee Mosshart), and by the father of her son, Gerald Mrazek. She is survived by her husband, Steve Emil, her son, Alex Mrazek, and by her sisters, Robin Simonek and Jamie Scott.

Shannon's girlhood was spent in Charlotte, North Carolina and Mount Prospect, Illinois. She graduated from Wheeling High School in 1967. She and Steve were married in 1988 and they lived in Mundelein, IL.

In 2005 Steve and Shannon moved to Shorewood, Minnesota. Shannon's activities included the League of Women Voters, serving as an election judge, volunteering at the Southshore Community Center, and knitting groups.

She leaves behind a wide circle of those whose lives she touched to both grieve her passing, while also feeling lucky to have met her.

On Friday, July 19th a memorial gathering will be held at 10:00am at the Southshore Community & Event Center, 5735 Country Club Rd. Shorewood, MN. 55331.

On Friday, August 16th there will another meeting at 10:00am in the Monarch Landing event space, located at 2255 Monarch Dr, Naperville, IL 60563. Phone: (630) 300-1300

In each case, everyone is invited to gather for lunch afterward at a local restaurant.

A private interment will be held in California. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Doctors Without Borders online at https://tinyurl.com/bdurv94p or a charity of your choice.
