Dear Roz:
Ted was in the hospital getting a new knee when we heard the news. Our whole family is sad at Seymour's passing. Our children (now grown) remember fondly how "Uncle Seymour" helped Ted in his campaign for alderman of the 50th ward in 1973. Years later he officiated at our daughter Elizabeth's wedding. Also, we would bump into him during intermissions at symphony concerts.
He leaves a solid legacy.
May his memory be for a blessing.

The Trustees and staff of the Chicago History Museum join me in mourning the passing of one of the giants in our town -- Hon. Seymour F. Simon. I personally remember him as a dedicated friend of reform from my days as President of the Chicago Council of Lawyers. We worked together on a new code of ethics for judges, which was adopted by the Illinois Supreme Court. At the Chicago History Museum, he is remembered as a supporter and lover of history. Our Board recalls that he served as Parliamentarian during our annual members' meetings. To the very end of his long life, he was a tireless and vital force on the civic scene. We offer our deepest condolences to the family and to the many friends of Justice Seymour Simon. History will cherish his memory.

Simon Family,
Seymour was a true jewel and served as a mentor of mine when I was a young attorney learning the ropes. He and I began at the law firm on the same day in 1988 and he taught me to have passion for the system and compassion for its participants. He will be missed

I admired his Honor long before I met him because of his stands for the little guy. I finally met his Honor when he married by daught Gail Ann Ivanauskas to Larry Tropp son of Dan And Maxine Tropp on Nov. 26, 1983. I have had the honor of many interesting talks over the years with his Honor and we will all miss him very munch.
