Losiniecki, Sandra L.

Sandra L. Losiniecki (nee Gammell), 78, passed away June 27, 2022. She was born February 10, 1944, in Chicago, IL. She grew up on the south side of Chicago near Chatham before moving with her family to Evergreen Park. She graduated from Evergreen Park High School in 1962. She worked for a time in downtown Chicago, before marrying the late Gregory P. Losiniecki in 1966, and moving to Downers Grove and later Naperville. As her three sons grew older she went to work at the Amoco Research Center in Naperville and was there until retirement. Greg and Sandy originally retired to Green Valley, AZ, before moving again to Mercer, WI. With Greg's passing after 52 years of marriage in 2018 she moved to Sycamore, IL, to be closer to her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed many journeys throughout her life, including multiple trips to Great Britain, Sweden and Germany, along with many places throughout the USA. With her family they hosted a foreign exchange student for a year in the 1980's and remained close with him until her passing. She is survived by their children and grandchildren - sons, Thomas (Dawn), Paul (Beth) and Dan (Nikki) - grandchildren, Emma, Lilli, Gregory, Elias, Wyatt and Noah; sister-in-law, Claudia Green and brother, Richard (Betty) Gammell. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd "Cy" and Bertha Gammell and her brother-in-law, Tom Green. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 4 PM - 8 PM at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8S072 Dugan Road, Sugar Grove followed by a 2 PM graveside service at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, IN. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
