Sam was always "Uncle Sam" to me. I will forever cherish the memories of the times I spent with Sam and Helen both. They both had the ability to make you laugh. And my mental picture of Sam will always be him sitting in his chair in his blue work pants and no shirt. Thank you for all the great memories.

I am unable to make it down for Uncle Sam's funeral due to the weather forecast and pending medical appointments. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Uncle Sam was my favorite and will be deeply missed.

Sam was was a great man-he worked for me for about 7 years after his retirement at the VA. He was the most honest and dependable employee & friend that I ever had-he was best known by all that knew him for saying "IT'S GOING TO GET WORST BEFORE IT GET'S ANY BETTER"!!! How correct that he was, I will miss you and love you forever-until we meet again in "HEAVEN". Greg Masters

I also worked with Sam for several years as did my Dad, Earl Stanley. Sam was a great friend and a great man and I'm saddened by his passing. We had great fun together at work and playing cards!! I'll miss him a lot.
