Samuel Rankin Obituary

Samuel Rankin, 79, passed away on October 4, 2004. Samuel was a World War II veteran and got a purple heart, bronze star, and several medals of honor. He worked with animals and was a dog and a horse trainer. He also loved to hunt birds. He is survived by his wife Nettie Boyd Rankin; three sons, Teddy Jim Rankin, Andrew Tim Rankin, and Tony Randell Rankin; two daughters, Terry L. Rankin and Sherri G. Lee; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Selmon Rankin and his wife Ailene; two sisters, Novella Hale and husband Gene, and Dixie Ward; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Olamae Neal Rankin; and two sisters, Pauline Gabert and Maxine Bergness. Services will be held in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral and Chapel of Moore, OK, at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2004.
