Sam Carl Obituary

I just read of Sam's passing last year. He was simply the best: the real deal. Love to you Joanie and to all your family. He was one of the first people my sons and I met when we moved to Chicago in 1984: McClurg Court. He was an ace on the basketball court, and I watched him go 1:1 with Michael Jordan. He was a great, real friend.

Hello Carl Family- my condolences on the passing of Sam. Sadly, I was not able to attend his funeral, but I wanted you to know how much I liked Sam, and that he was very kind to me early in my musical career. (In fact , my band played for the birthday party at the Westin back in the '80's- probably his 50th). But more importantly, I met Sam in the mid-'70's at the Mcclurg Ct Health Club. Our lockers were close, so we talked a lot because Sam was very friendly. I have many pleasant memories of Sam at the club, and will miss him.

I am sorry for your loss. Losing someone you love is one of the strongest pains. The pain of their absence can sometimes feel overwhelming. But one of the things that keeps me strong is my hope to see my loved ones again. The Bible offers me that hope at Daniel 12:13 that my loved one will rest in death but then they will rise at the end of days. I have allowed scriptures like this to give me strength when i begin to feel sorrow over my loss, I pray that it offers you the same encouragement during this trying time for you.
