My deepest sympathy to you all on the passing on Sal's passing. Sal and I began a wonderful friendship over 35 years ago, at the old Chicago Stadium. Two hockey fans had a beer (Sal bought...)and started to chat, and quickly came to learn our Dad's had grown up together on Polk Street. Every Wednesday and Sunday we had great times, ate too much at Tufano's or Gene & Georgetti's, and shared a few sunny days in Rome over the years. We commiserated about the Blackhawks during many lean years, Sal offering his coaching advice to anyone team member that would listen! I thank God we had those days together.

I always admired him and know I was blessed to have him as a friend. Andrea, I pray you and the entire family take comfort in knowing what a wonderful husband, father, and doting son he was and how much he loved you all.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Ferrara family. Will always tell the story of how generous Sal was when I would go to the factory and ask the receptionist if he was available. Then all of a sudden I would hear this voice ". . ask him what he wants, Hawks tickets or a job . ." He was so giving to me and I'll never forget that. A great family to have in the neighborhood.

To Andrea and all. The entire Ferrara family has been such a huge part of our lives for decades.So much sorrow but also great joy seeing Sal's wonderful smile with Lauren's children. He is an example to us all to get out there and live everyday to the fullest. He always did. Expected 110% from everybody while never adding less than 120% himself.
Sorrow just doesn't cover it... there are no words... We hold all of you in our hearts.

Sal Ferrara II, one of the smartest businessmen I have ever met, one of the most generous friends I have ever had and the very definition of "a family man". I will forever compare future employers to Sal and they will all come up short. People at tables around the world gave thanks on Thursday for the opportunity of having known him. Sal was a kind man who I was thrilled to partner with several times putting candy and toys together to make the kids smile. For years at Tiger Electronics, people would sneak into my office to steal Lemonheads, Atomic Fireballs and Jawbreakers all courtesy of Sal.
