I did not know Ruth very well, but I always thought that she had a great deal of energy and joy for life.

Ruth volunteered her time generously in my work place for at least 15 years, where I got to know and admire her feisty character and generosity. She was a model for me through her contribution of time and efforts to many institutions in Chicago after her retirement. Until the last few years, she seemed ageless to me, always spry and full of spirit. I will miss her.
