I had a few days to reflect on what has happened. I've cried numerous times since because I miss my granny. She has always been a part of my life. It's because of her I love coffee, I know how to get around on the CTA, I know how to tolerate the heat of summer since she never invested in a air conditioner and only had fans, it's because of her that I love the Cubs, and it's because of her that I know the word "shoot"! ^_^

I know that she has lived a great life and that she couldn't live forever. I just thought that she had a little more life in her. She seemed fine saturday when we had our ritual morning breakfast at the Lincoln Restaurant. There she was drinking her coffee and eating her baked potatoe. When I got to work early that day I gave her a hug which I do on occasion and I kissed her on the top of her poofy head and told her I love her.

It's going to be hard for me since she took me under her wing while my ma was in the hospital for a few years. She was a second mother to me. She nurtured me and made sure that I had a great childhood despite the hurdles my family had when I was young.

Grandma, you will always be in my heart and I love you dearly. Say hi to grandpa for me and aunt Diane.

With love,

Jon-Jon

i am sitting here at past one in the morning with the most random of thoughts passing through my head.
what was the last thing i said to you?
did you ever really know just how much of a part of my soul you were?

what if i had been an hour early to visit you that day..what would we have talked about?

what was the last movie we saw together?

why does letting you go seem to be the hardest thing i have ever had to try to do?

i hope to have these questions answered someday...when i find you in whatever place waits for us on the other side.
till then,
just keep in touch every now in then in a dream from time to time maybe.
i love you.

When I leave you don't weep for me, just remember how my laughing pleased you. Look at one another smiling and don't forget about touching, sing the song that I love best and dance one time all together. As for me, I'll be off running somewhere on the beach, and I'll fly to the top of the tree I always meant to climb. When you are ready, I'll be there-waiting for you. Take your time.

Grandma, you will be missed. I love you.
