I have known Ruth for many years because of her involvement in Delta Kappa Gamma. She always had a little twinkle in her eye and was just a joy to be with. She and I both had a love of traveling and we used to compare travel notes. I was envious of her because she was able to travel more often while I was still teaching. I will miss her greatly.

Dear Family of Ruth,

I met Ruth in Delta Kappa Gamma

a number of years ago and I immediately found her to be warm, friendly and caring. As president of our local DKG chapter Ruth and Î worked together to get meeting notices out to the members. I will miss her smile and warm nature. Ruth and I often talked about her Swedish lessons as my husbands family is Swedish. Just this last weekend I received Swedish tapes for my birthday and I had intended to share them with Ruth. Know that Ruth will be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace and may you be comforted to know that people share your grief and sorrow.

I firat met Ruth when she joined the Gamma Eta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was always a willing worker and she loved to share her travel stories. She brought back neat items to share with our group. I will miss her alot. I would like to express my sympathy to her family and let them know that she will always be remembered.

Dear Family of Mrs. Leistikow,

I am shocked and deeply saddened by the death of Mrs. Leistikow. She was my seventh grade science teacher and friend. I will never forget the time she came to watch my first ever Irish dance performance or when she offered to translate Swedish cards for me. However, my most vivid memory of her is when she fed my class chocolate chip worm cookies! By the way, were there really worms in those cookies? I am very blessed to have met Mrs. Leistikow in my young life because she had such an influence on me as both a student and a person.

I have known Ruth as a member of Portfolio Partners, our investment club. She was an important part of the group and will be greatly missed. I looked forward to hearing about her travels, past and future each month. I am sorry I am unable to attend the service but you are all in my thoughts and prayers. She was one very special, cool lady!

I've known Ruth for years and years because we belonged to the Gamma Eta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She enjoyed sharing her travel adventures with us in recent years. She just called me two weeks ago to remind me that I needed to bring refreshments to the April meeting! I'm very sorry to hear of her passing. My deepest sympathy to her family members. May you find comfort in your memories of happy times with Ruth. God comfort you and give you strength.

To Mrs. Leistikow's Family,

What a wonderful lady! She was teacher to my 2 sons at Peacock. She was also one of my customers at Itasca Bank. The boys remember her as one of their favorite teachers; my memories are those of a gracious, beautiful lady who chose to share her knowlege and kindness with the children who will shape our future. She will always be remembered and cherished.

God's blessings and comfort to all of you.

Ruth was a treasured member of our Delta Kappa Gamma organization. She has been very active and involved for as long as I have known her. She wiil be sorely missed. She was her usual spirited, upbeat person the last time I saw her, which was only a month ago. May she rest in peace.

My friendship with Ruthie goes back to the mid-40s when we were classmates at Northern Ill St Teachers College. We "lost track" of each other over the years, but a few years ago, we began to have luncheons with Marion Zurick when Janet Sack and/or Mary Jane deCamp were in town. I am very grieved to learn of Ruth's sudden passing and shall miss her charm, gaiety, and thoughtfulness as will all those who had the pleasure of her company.

I am saddened to learn of Ruth's passing. She was a wonderful Science teacher. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years. My children were privilaged to have her as an educator. I will miss her smiling face and Ruth, I will keep the secret about your "Worm Cookie" recipe.
