Leinberger, Ruth Margareta Lundquist January 17, 1920 - September 5, 2010, 90, passed away on September 5th, 2010 at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Golden, Colorado. She was born January 17th, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York to Joel and Signe (Anderson) Lundquist. She graduated from The Brooklyn Hospital School of Nursing and served as a nurse in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She married Hugo Leinberger on August 31st, 1946. While raising her family, Ruth lived in Park Forest, Illinois. Ruth's husband, Hugo, served as Village Chaplain during the early days of the formation of the community and they were long-time members of Faith United Protestant church in Park Forest. She earned a B.S. nursing degree from the College of St. Francis. After Hugo's death in June, 1971, she became the school nurse at the SPEED Development Center in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Ruth retired from SPEED in 1984. Ruth moved to Colorado after she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Ruth is survived by her brother, Clifford Lundquist of White Plains, New Jersey; four children, Paul Leinberger (Susan) of Irvine, California, Lisa Roberts (Bill) of Golden, Colorado, Gretchen Miller (Frank) of Marietta, Georgia and Karen Leinberger (Tom Ross) of Niwot, Colorado; five grandchildren, Jenna Roberts Ciecko (Scott Ciecko) of Portland, Oregon, Michael Miller (Andrea Burbank) of Chicago, Illinois, Patrick Miller of Washington, D.C., Harper Leinberger of Boulder, Colorado and Emily Ross of Niwot, Colorado. A memorial service was held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at First Congregational Church in Boulder. Private interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
