Rufus Robinson Obituary
Rufus Joseph Robinson, age 94, of Chicago, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2021. He was born on April 19, 1927 to the late Rufus and Ruth Robinson in Manchester, Connecticut.
He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1945. At 22, he began working for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and retired after forty years. Rufus enjoyed grilling, traveling, jazz and big band music, playing the slot machines, watching football and "coaching" the Bears, and piloting. Above all he loved his family.
Buster, Grandpa, Rufus, Uncle, Crabtree will be immeasurably missed by all whose lives he touched.
Services will take place at First United Methodist Church, 9358 S. Homan Ave., Evergreen Park, IL. on Saturday at 11:30 am with Visitation from 10:00am. Interment: Oak Woods cemetery, 1035 E. 67th Street, Chicago, IL 60637.
