Ruby Eldridge

Feb. 13, 1908 Oct. 1, 2003

Ruby Eldridge, longtime resident of Bakersfield, passed away October 1, in Glenwood Gardens, in Bakersfield, at the age of 95 years old. She was born February 13, 1908, in Stamford, Texas.

Ruby was very involved in various organizations, AARP, Rasmussen Senior Center, Frontier and Pioneer Days and when her four children attended Standard School was active in the PTA and served as president for a time.

She is preceded in death by Jack Wilson, who was an original employee of Golden Crust Bakeries, her daughter, Nancy Machado who was born and lived in Bakersfield; and second husband, Jack Eldridge. Ruby is survived by son, Jerry and his wife, Shirley; daughter, Mickie Rodkey, who lives in Meridian, Idaho; son, Jack Wilson and wife, Carol, who reside in Bakersfield. Ruby is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jerry and Shirley wish to acknowledge their deep appreciation for the staff and especially the nurses and aides at Station One at Glenwood Gardens Skilled Nursing who loved and cared for Ruby the last two years.

There will be no services, interment will be at Greenlawn Mortuary, River Blvd., with her late husband, Jack Wilson.

Jerry and Shirley have requested a Mass be celebrated at Our Lady of The Snows Church, in Frazier Park. Prayers will be said at interment.
