We at Dupage Animal Hospital were all very saddened to hear of Rube's passing. He was a very special friend to all of us. His love for his dogs and all animals was very apparent. Sitting in our waiting room one day there was a person who couldn't afford to pay for what his pet needed and Rube said, don't worry, I'll take care of it. This is who he was, helping anyone he could. I myself remember talking to him many times......he will be greatly missed. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know he will be smiling down from Heaven on all of us.

Rube was truly a man that will always be remembered by everyone in the industry for his humor, integrity and strong family ties. He mades friends with everyone he met and was always giving back to the industry. Rube's joyful memories are his gift to us forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. I'll always remember Uncle Rube as a beautiful soul with so many great stories. Rest in Paradise.

Throughout my working career, I never met an individual with more honesty and integrity than Rube. He was always concerned with satisfying the needs of his customers and took the extra steps necessary to take care of them. He was always there to assist in any way he could. The industry lost a great gentleman and ambassador when he retired and we all lost a true friend with his passing.

"Rube" was a great East Leyden guy, the kind of person who bled maroon and white. As a member of the Leyden Alumni Hall of Fame, he worked to keep school spirit going and trying to bring Leyden groups together. His Leyden Old Timers golf outings were fantastic and he was able to have multiple prizes which when raffled off raised money to help those Leyden people less fortunate. He was the kind of man everybody loved. The Leyden Eagles will miss him, his generosity, and his love of East Leyden High School!

Whenever I think of Ruben, I will always remember him caring so much about helping Latinos progress. His passion always came through at our LCOM meetings. I will miss his positive energy. May he rest in peace.

Ruben was a wonderful person. He had a kind and giving heart. He warmed a room with his smile. I was pleased to know him, as he was honored on Leyden's Wall of Fame. He was a treasure and will be missed by many.

I am so sad to learn Rube's passing. Rube was a loyal friend and a dedicated hard worker for the economic and social advancement of the Latino community.
