Roy C. Stanek, Age 92 . U.S. Army Combat Veteran, Bronze Star Recipient, Aerial Photographer of Korean War. Beloved Husband of Wanda Szarley. Loving Father of Alan Stanek, Lynn (Tim)Andersen, Lori Vacchiano, Gary (Kimbra) Stanek and Luci (Ron) Palumbo. Loving Grandfather of Kristy, Kelly, Kyle, Melissa, Ashley, Brittany, Spencer, Erik, Giana and Dominic. Loving great Grandfather of 6. Dear Brother of Lawrence (late Ann)Stanek and the late Rich (Terry) and late twin brother Ray (late LaVerne)Stanek. Roy will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation is Monday, October 11, 2021 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave.(55th street just west of Harlem) from 4 PM to 8 PM. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8 AM until time of Prayers at 9 AM. We will go in procession from the funeral home to Two Holy Martyrs Parish St. Symphorosa Church for a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. After mass friends and family will meet at 12:15 PM at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where Roy will be laid to rest with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations to Clearing Post 600 American Legion (4352 W 63rd St, Chicago, IL 60629-5039) would be appreciated.
