Roxey Walker Obituary
Roxey Wanda Faye Walker, age 89 and was born in Ada, OK on October 16, 1920 and resided at The Terraces in Phoenix until her death on May 10, 2010. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Walker. She is survived by her son, David F. Walker; daughter-in-law, Sheryl; brothers, Edwin and Dawson Nail; sister, Doris Stanfield and God daughters, Mary Jo Cain and Janie Holtz. Wanda enjoyed many years being a member of the Eastern Star and P.E.O. A memorial service will be held at 1PM, Saturday, June 5, 2010, Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. I recall when that Airstream camper was parked in our driveway many years ago; Elizabeth, Miguel, & even 4-year-old Alicia used its back ladder to climb on our roof! Aunt Wanda & Uncle Cleo were so much fun & a delight to be around. I enjoyed visiting with them when I took my mom to visit them in Cottonwood & in Phoenix, too, & loved Wanda's stories of teaching ESL in South Korea. I will miss them both.

Aunt Wanda was always so much fun to be around. I can't begin to recall all the laughter and hijinks that she, Uncle Cleo, and my parents enjoyed. There is an Airstream camper in Heaven right now and she and Uncle Cleo are sitting by a campfire, laughing. Aunt Wanda lives a legacy of graciousness, warmth, and a wicked sense of humor to her nieces and nephews. We will always remember you and love you.
