Villaluz, Rosita Q.

Rosita Q. Villaluz, 89, passed away on February 3, 2012. She was born in the Philippines on May 16, 1922 to Mario and Sotera (Loba) Quinto. Rosita came to the United States in 1978 and settled in Guam. She moved to Nanuet in 1995 and has been a resident for 10 years. From 2005 to 2012 she lived in Valley Cottage, NY. Education was very important to Rosita. She made sure all of her children attended and graduated from college. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from her 10 children as well as her grandchildren. Rosita is survived by her children Petronilo and Angelita, Chula Vista, CA, Gener and Miraflor, Nanuet, NY, Estelita DeGuzman, Valley Cottage, NY, Nemencia Villaluz, Queens, NY, Mercedes Celestial, Queens, NY, Emma and Rey Masajo, Valley Cottage, NY, Susana Villaluz, Somerville, NJ, Leonida and John Tyler, Arlington, VA, Lucila Villaluz, Bethlehem, PA, Teresa and Carlos Cortes, Queens, NY; her two brothers Ricardo and Florencio of the Philippines; her 3 sisters Julia of Maryland, Magdalena, Los Angeles, CA, and Natividad of the Philippines; her 9 grandchildren Claire, Marissa, Ann Cerissa, Ryan, Nelson, Abigail, Jonathan, Marcus, and Katrina; and her 2 great grandchildren Winter and Weather. Rosita was predeceased by her husband Hermogenes in January 2001. Family may receive friends on Thursday February 9 and Friday February 10 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday February 11 at St. Anthony's Church, Nanuet, NY, at 10am followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA 18020 or St. Anthony's Church, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY 10954.
