Rose Grass Obituary

Grass, Rose Marie (nee Ditto) Age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2014, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. For almost 60 years, she was the devoted wife of Charles L.; darling mother of Marie (Dr. Charles) Amenta, Gloria Grasse-Hendrix, Linda (Robert Heaton), Charles W. (Annmarie), Claude and Catherine. She was the doting grandmother of Russell, Gregory and Benjamin Amenta, Serenity (Darren) Harrison, Forrest and Wyatt Hendrix and Mason and Madison Grass; delighted great-grandmother of Liam Harrison; loving sister of Frank H. (Anne) Ditto and fond aunt of Quinn (Erin) Ditto. Preceded in death by her nephew, Niels Ditto; parents, W.H. and Marie Ditto; and parents-in-law, Charles A. and Marie Grass. Rose Marie was a Coloratura Soprano and was as beautiful a person as she was a singer. Funeral Tuesday 10:00 a.m. Chapel Service at Grein Funeral Directors, 2114 W Irving Park Rd. Interment Irving Park Cemetery. Visitation Monday 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. 773-588-6336 or greinfuneraldirectors.com.
