Her tough but fair approach left a lasting impression on her students, who looked forward to her homemade gingerbread boys during the holidays.

A passionate hockey fan and season ticket holder, Rose cheered for the Chicago Blackhawks for over 50 years. She was a familiar presence at games and delighted in sharing Jolly Ranchers and homemade cookies with the players. Oh, Miss Falbo. Without your Venn diagrams and thorough teaching, I don’t think I’d have spent my career working in journalism. Thank you and I’ll miss you

My family and I met Rose at the Blackhawks games in the 1980’s when we sat next to the player bench. She was so much fun and we loved her gingerbread men cookies. I’m so greatful she sent me her recipe years ago although mine were nothing like hers. I’ll cherish that recipe in her handwriting. Our deepest sympathy to her family.

Ms. Falbo was a teacher of a lifetime. I was lucky enough to be a student in her class for both fourth and fifth grade. 50 years later I still speak of her as being the best teacher that ever happened to me.

Ms. Falbo was my favorite teacher! She instilled confidence in a very awkward 10 year old and I'm indebted to her for that. What a gem. I can still diagram a sentence too! Rest in Heaven and be at peace on the other side of the veil. You will be missed and touched many lives

Mrs Falbo was one of my favorite teachers at Ogden. She was tough but pushing us helped me develop confidence in myself and my abilities. Underneath her toughness was a very warm and loving heart. You could feel how much she cared about all of us. She will be forever remembered and respected.

Miss Falbo was a wonderful lady and a great teacher. She was the only teacher I ever had who made us diagram sentences. I remember finding that especially challenging. The exercises were tough but important because they instilled a deeper appreciation of the language. I’m equally sure I didn’t appreciate it at the time.

I was fortunate to reconnect with her a few years ago. So fun to see her. I can still hear her voice and her laugh.

Right after my niece, Francesca, was born, I posted a picture of her in a Blackhawks’ jersey. Rose immediately commented:

“As a rabid fan and season ticket-holder of Chicago Blackhawks hockey, I loved the picture of Francesca Lenore in her little Blackhawks jersey. She is an adorable little munchkin!!”

Rose, thank you for everything. You are missed.

My condolences to Ms Falbo's family. She was one of my toughest teachers (that was 40+ yrs ago!) but we shared the love our Blackhawks!! I'm sure she will be dearly missed by all who loved her most.

I first met Rose in 2000 at a Chicago Blackhawks game and we quickly became friends. I'm going to miss her terribly.
