Mr. Wright was an instrumental teacher in my education. He brightened the minds of his students and taught them principles and skills that helped them all to learn the fundamentals of how things are made. He was a fair and honorable teacher and a person I have always had great respect for. Please take heart in knowing that he shared great knowledge and integrity to a generation of students, who now can share that with the next generation.

Many of you know him as Mr. Wright, some even know him as Ron but I know him as Dad. My Dad was a great father, honest, fair, unconditional and most of all funny. He was the type of father I could only hope to strive to be a fraction of. He was always at least a phone call away and if he didn´t pick up he would always call you right back. He was the jack of all trades and enjoyed sharing his knowledge. If he didn´t know, he would research and teach you. Dad I miss your teachings, I also miss your candidness and most of all I miss laughing with you.
Thank you for being my Dad.

I love you Grandpa... you always had a soft spot for Chel and I. I remember your snake Fluffy lol and you always sitting at your kitchen table watching TV. When I had Ace (your only Great Grandchild)... you bought the expensive carseat I wanted and the stroller so it could "lock" into it... When I came home to Florida for Christmas and ended up taking Ace to urgent care late at night... you didn't comment on any of my anxiety or craziness... you just said to take him in and see what they say. Grandpa, I love you and miss you. Thank you for always giving the best hugs and for all the Harley Davidson checks for our birthday each year, even though we are 30... each year... you never stopped sending them. Xoxo

I love you Grandpa. You gave the best hugs and always squeezed so tight. I will miss always seeing you at mom's house for any and all occasions. I enjoyed talking to you on the phone and you always willing to help with anything.

When I was five, I had surgeries on my tendons. My dad was there. I remember he held my hand and when I woke up, he was the first person I saw. Later on in life, I was in college and repeated the surgery. I asked my dad to hold my hand, he did. This is just one memory. He was an incredible father. No matter what, he was there for me. I loved him so much and miss him dearly.

Forming words to honor my father is tough. To narrow down specifically what he meant to me and my siblings, I can't find the words. My dad loved teaching woodshop. You folks will never know the sadness that he had when he retired. He loved his students and teachers. He kept all the pictures he took of your final class projects. To watch him talk to a former student that was many years removed was amazing, because he remembered all your names.
All my siblings took his classes. I remember when it was my turn, he terrified me and made me laugh at some things they had done before me. He said "Don't call me dad in class. Call me Mr. Wright. They will figure out your my kid fast enough, but I don't want them thinking your getting special treatment. " That seemed fair and it worked for about half a day. But when he was teaching, I was every other kid. Treated fair and with equal concern.
Seeing the reach my dad had was fun too. I was the art kid of the four. In college I was in figure class one day. Talking to the model, I found out she was from Skokie and low an behold a former student. She didn't believe me when I said I was Mr. Wrights son. Pictures say a thousand words and ill never forget her screaming out" OH MY GAWD, HE BRED!!!
Thank you all for remembering him. I bring his attitude and teachings into my own classes with kids. Maybe not as many wood chips being thrown, but the jokes are there. However terrible those jokes are.

Great teacher. Inspiring. My mom still has the fruit bowl I made. I went on to high school wood shop and after college took adult classes at Conant HS, making Mantle clocks... rip

Mr. Wright was a memorable and influential teacher. A good sense of humor and great with the students. I have a couple projects still from his class. The hands on skills he taught us I went on to use as an engineer in my career. It's amazing how these teachers shape your life. Thank you Mr. Wright. You will be missed. My condolences to your family.

Mr. Wright is one of those teachers you never forget. He made shop class fun and he taught me skills that I use to this very day. Hardly a time goes by when use a power tool to cut wood that I do not think of him! Rest in peace and may your memory be eternal.

Mr. Wright was definitely one of my favorite, funniest and most memorable teachers. He required attention to detail, lots of start overs with my drafting assignments, but was so funny and engaging. So much magic in the basement of Lincoln Jr High! I’ll never forget when he told us to “Get the duck out of here” (meaning our lawn ducks). Wishing all the Wrights peace in the days to come. I know he’ll be missed.

Mr. Write was one of my all-time favorite teachers not only in my shop class but he was the cafeteria monitor and man o man he got me out of a lot of trouble. Mr. Write, I am so sorry for throwing peas off my spoon across the lunch room! Rest in Peace!

Mr. Wright was one of the best teachers. He was a matter-of-fact, fair kinda teacher. I looked forward to the class and seeing what I could build, and if we messed up it was still ok! I still have the magazine holder and clip board we made in his class nearly 50 years later. He was eager to let a few of us help clean up and organize. He would boast about how much he loved his family. When I was in grade 8 I offered to babysit so he could get some time to go out once in a while with his wife. He was so proud of each of his kids and I could see why he loved them so! It was so much fun. He was an amazing man, my heart and prayers go out to each of the children and the entire family! My his name be for a blessing.

I worked with Ron in District 69 for many years. He was a great guy to be with even though I was the "butt" of many of his jokes. When I ended my career at Lincoln, I saw what a wonderful rapport he had with his students! He talked often of his children and grandchildren. He was proud of all. He will missed by all!

Mr. Wright was a wonderful shop teacher. I have two of the projects that I made in his class that I still love. The clipboard with my initials on it and the puzzle of a lynx. Thank you for your open minded ways with no judgement of gender and girls being in the shop. May his memory be a blessing. My condolences to his family.

I am so sorry to see this news. I worked with Ron at Lincoln Jr High for many years. He was a great teacher and colleague. He coached Science Olympiad with me and was so good at it. After retirement and before he moved to FL, he would ride over on his motorcycle just to chat and catch up. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be missed. Rest In Peace, my friend.
