Dear McInerney Family,

Ron and I go way back many years when we worked the force at O'Hare field. We also attended college together. He was a good friend and always a gentleman. The only reason I'm not with you is I was just released from the hospital. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear McInerney Family,

It was a real privilage to have worked with and known Ron at O'Hare. We work together from 1970-1974. We always talked about our family and the White Sox. Ron and I were also teammates on the O'Hare softball team. What a ride we had. His smiling face, his positive attitude have been burned in my mind all these years. His pain is over and I know he is smiling on all of you right now. God Bless,

Dear McInerney Family,

We truly have lost a great one! Ron was always a dedicated family man, police officer and friend to many. He was constantly thinking of others, and that was witnessed by many that would stop and have a cup of coffee at O'Hare Airport, during the midnight hours. To many that knew Ron, the following saying will always be on their minds, "fresh on the left." This referred to the fact that he always was making fresh coffee for the working officers, or anyone that would stop by. He was hard working, and continually strove to provide more for his family. He truly is one of the Great Ones, and will be missed by many. Your family is in our prayers.

Dearest McInerney Family,

Chicago has lost one of it's finest! We are saddened to learn about Ron's passing to his eternal reward. He is at peace. He had a great run with CPD. Although we've only known him since his daughter, Kristin became the love of our cousin Jack's life; he made a classic impact on our families. We have seen his personality through the eyes of his beautiful grandchildren, especially, little Kayla. We have prayed for your family, and will continue to do so. May God give all of you the strength to get through the holidays. The love that your family shares will also give you the support you need.

With love,

Colette, Tom, Patrick, Clare, and Maricolette McGrath

Dear Pat & Family- I'm so sorry to hear about Ronnie. My Father loved him. I know Ronnie is now keeping my Dad out of trouble up there.I wanted to share a memory of Ronnie with you.Ronnie and I we're Notre Dame, White Sox fans. My Dad liked the Cubs. When Ronnie went to a Michigan State Game he brought me back the program and a sweatshirt for Michigan and told me they don't sell ND stuff there. He also gave me letter head for the big man with the White Sox. He would come over and see my Son Sean and pick him up and play with him. Ronnie just had this really trusting thing about him he was so kind, gentle and thoughtful! My Dad would always say that Ronnie would have the coffee ready for all the cops when he got in. It was one of the first things he would do. That shows you what a thoughtful person he was. I'm sorry that I could not be there in person but I'm still realizing that my Dad is not here. I want you all to know that you'll be in my thoughts and prayers like always. It's funny because Ronnie's been on my mind all last week. I know my Dad was waiting to greet him and GOD takes the best ones when they're young. I will miss him and if there's ANYTHING I can do please let me know. Pat you've always been there for me since I was a little girl. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to hug you and you're daughters. Ronnie talked all the time about his children and all his grandchildren he was very proud of you all. I must say it's an Honor to know Ronnie and Pat. You've both touched my life, and I know my Dad's. My GOD keep you're family safe and healthy this comming year! Please let me know if you need anything.
