Ronald Lindsey Obituary

Lindsey, Ronald "Doofy" Hunter 44, of South Haven, died Monday, June 3, at his home. He was born February 7, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Hunter and Betty Lindsey. Doofy graduated from Tilden High School in Chicago, IL, in 1976. He married Laura "Missy" Henderson in Chicago, IL, on July 7, 1979. Doofy worked as a cook at Marro's Restaurant in Saugatuck for the last four years. He is preceded in death along with his parents by a brother, Donald Lindsey, who died in 1992. Ronald is survived by his wife, Missy Lindsey and two daughters, Jill and Denise Lindsey both of South Haven, one granddaughter Kyra Fitzhugh. Visitation will be Thursday, June 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mary Hoots officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. The family is being helped by the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Visit our Guest Book at suntimes.com

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A SHORT TIME THAT I KNEW DOOFY I FEEL AS THOUGH HE AND ALL OF YOUR FAMILY IS AN EXTENDED FAMILY TO ME. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY MYSELF AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE. IF THERE IS EVER ANYTHING YOU NEED AND ARE IN CHICAGO, JUST GIVE ME A CALL AND I WILL TRY TO HELP IN ANYWAY I CAN.

Missy, Denise and Jill,

I very sorry to hear about Doofy and I'm sorry I won't be able to be their. But I'm glad he was able to see you graduate. That alone tells everyone how important and how much he loved his family, to be able to stay around. Remember you have a lot of friends and family around to help you though this. Doofy you will be missed alot, but never forgotten.

He was my friend before he was my nephew. It was so hard to see him so sick. I like everyone love and will miss you. I know he will watch over all of us because in life he was that kind of caring & loving person.
