He received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Duke University, where he remains a record-holding baseball pitcher, and his Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. His pride in his alma maters' was surpassed only by his love for Miami Beach High School (Class of 1957). He served his various communities actively in many volunteer capacities from synagogues to symphonies to children in need. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14 at 10 a.m. at Temple Judea, 5500 Granada Boulevard, Coral Gables. Shiva will be observed through Tuesday night. Baruch B"H Hashem, there never was a sweeter man who loved and was loved by his family and friends surely held in the bosom of G-D for eternity to rest in peace. He brought joy to so many whose lives were made brighter if only to have known Ron for just a little while and for them and so many others more, he left this world a better place with such Sweet Sorrow now B"H

Dear Nedra, I'd like to take a moment to express my sincere sympathy. I have been delivering your mail since your arrival at Grand Bay Residences, and it has always been a pleasure to provide my services. Ron was a great man, always calm, and always a smile on his face when we met in the lobby. We had a mutual understanding. When there was too much mail to fit in the box, a simple note:"Mr. K, check w/security" was all that was needed for him to pick up the mail at the front desk. I'll truly miss writing the "Mr. K" notes.

Nedra, know that G-D is with you, and will help you to go forward.

Ron Kalish was not only one of the finest athletes I ever coached, but a true gentleman and the epitome of a "team player." He was admired and respected by his teammates, his coaches, and his fellow students.

His athletic ability was only surpassed by his academic competency. He was an excellent student at Miami Beach High School and at Duke University. Ron was my idea of what a student-athlete should exemplify.

Please accept my sincere condolences on Ron's untimely passing. May you, the family, dwell on Ron's accomplishments and career and be proud of the esteem in which he was held by those who knew him well.

Dear Nedra,

I was deeply saddened by Ron's passing and regret not being able to attend the service in Miami. I am in NYC about to undergo surgery on 4/15....life is so very fragile. Diane will be there on my behalf and I will call after recuperating.

Love,

In my teenage years, the Kalish home was a place that I looked forward to visiting for great humor, intellect, and spirit. Ron Kalish was always there offering a twinking eye and a wry smile. He was a prince. I feel profoundly for your loss. Geoff, please send me an email one of these days.
