Roger Vivier
of Dracut, Korean War Vet; 86

DRACUT -- Roger Vivier, 86, a resident of Dracut for the past 57 years, passed away on Monday, October 6th, 2014, at the Northwood Rehab in Lowell, after a very long illness.

He was the beloved husband of Germaine (Robitaille) Vivier, with whom he celebrated their 60 year wedding anniversary on February 20, 2014.

Roger was born in Lowell on August 4, 1928, a son of the late Alice (Dion) and Raoul Vivier. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School. Following high school in 1950, Roger was drafted and served his country during the Korean War as part of the US Army, until being honorably discharged.

Prior to his retirement, Roger was employed for over 30 years as a supervisor for the New England Telephone Company in Salem, MA.

In his free time, he enjoyed watching baseball and football, and loved spending time with his family.

Along with his wife Germaine, Roger is survived and will be deeply missed by his two sons, Russell Vivier and his partner, Pam Whittier of Beddington, Maine, and Neil Vivier of Dracut; three grandchildren, Zachary Vivier of Arizona, Eliana Vivier of California, and Justin Dion of California.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Walter Robitaille of Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Vincent of Dracut, Irene Vivier of Connecticut, and Pauline Clemon of Florida; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Roger was predeceased by his brothers, Roland and Arthur Vivier, and his sister, Rita Manchenton.

VIVIER -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on TODAY, October 9th from 4-8 PM at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His funeral will take place on FRIDAY, October 10th at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, with his service at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow.
