Dear Brown Family, I am Mel Traylor's step-daughter (Marjorie's daughter) and was just thinking of your parents today. I knew that Barbara had died and wondered how Roger was doing. I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you. For many years I enjoyed the New Year's Day party on Clavey Road and the summer picnic - I am so lucky to have known your parents and have fond memories of time spent with the Traylors and the Browns. Sincerely, Melissa

I will miss Roger greatly. His involvement with the Standard Club and his desire to always make our suburban lunches and events will sit with me forever and whenever I eat an oyster, I think of Roger fondly and our last lunch at Froggy's. He was a great friend and mentor to so many. May his memory be for an eternal blessing.

I'm deeply saddened to hear of Roger's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years at A. G. Becker, in fact he was very instrumental in my hiring in 1964. Our friendship grew from that point forward. I found Roger to be a unique human being; honest, humble, humorous and extremely intelligent, among many other admirable traits. To say he'll be missed is a gross understatement, but to say Roger left the world better than he found it is an even greater understatement. Well done good friend. Rest in peace.

Roger and I were the same age and friends for decades. I also knew his father, a Chicago lawyer of distinction. Roger leaves a legacy of love of our country and its values, love of his family and contributions to make our community a better place.
