Liace, Rocco H. 83, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Sampognaro). Preceded in death by his first wife Angeline (nee Vencenzo). Loving father of Anthony (Joanna), and Rocco Jr. (Julie), dear stepfather of Robert Szwan (Jeanne), Alan Szwet and Sherry Munis, cherished grandfather of Rocco, Anthony and Gabriella, Samantha, Steven, Melissa and Mark, and an uncle to all. World War II Army Veteran, Chicago Police Patrolman, retired from the 10th District after 30 years of service. Visitation Thursday, July 8, 2010, from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral Friday, July 9 at 10:00AM at Kerr-Parzygnot Funeral Home 540 Dixie Hwy. (at Joe Orr Rd.), Chicago Heights, IL. 60411. Information (708)754-0016. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, Illinois 60421. Family and friends are welcome to attend the military ceremony and salute.

The Arbel family was fortunate enough to meet Rocco at Tony's 50th birthday party and spend a week cruising with him. We remember him as a happy man with a great sense of humor. Always one to find the bright side of things. Surely he will be missed.

Pat, our depest sympathy to you & family. Though we did not know Rocco well, we often sought his company at the parties - he was so likeable & amiable. At Payton's b'day party he walked out to us to sit-n-chat - we did not know or appreciate at the time the effort it took for him to do that. He will be sorely missed
