I was saddened to hear of the passing of Rocco. I will remember "Roc" for his kind and generous spirit. I can still picture him sitting at the organ in Mr. Greco's Lounge, dapperly attired in his tuxedo, and a big smile on his face. It would not be more than five minutes after I entered that he would belt out his rendition of "Danny Boy" to recognize my arrival. I think he was always happiest when he was entertaining. Thanks for your many kindnesses Roc. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers.

Rest in Peace.

A wonderful man whom we got to know through his 1946 marketing photo which has held an honored spot on the living room wall of our family summer cottage since 1980. We discovered his picture in a flea market that year in search of a fun, first prize award for a golf tournament at our first family reunion. We have held similar reunions every five years or so ever since with a growing list of winners etched on a placque beneath his picture. Our most recent reunion, named "Rocco Greco 2000", was held (you guessed it) 4 years ago.

Through the magic of the digital age, my brother, Nick, was able to reproduce Rocco's picture and a cousin imprinted it on T-shirts. We then set on a quest to see if we could locate more information about our reunion's honored namesake. Thanks to the internet we got lucky and found him to be living with his sister in a northern chicago suburb. The three of us talked for some time. they were delighted that he had become a part of our extended family. We thenexchanged gifts, he sending me me a CD of his music and I reciprocating with two t-shirts with his 1946 logoed on them.

We are tentatively thinking about holding another reunion which now with his passing, is even more imperative so as to continue to honor him. Rocco 2005 ... here we come.

I am so glad I got to speak to Rocco last year or was it the year before. I am sorry I never got to meet him in person. As an amateur singer he gave me some advice. My family had the Rocco Greco Golf Tournament (Family only duffers game.)for years and he thought it was a fun idea. We had a signed autographed picture of him that we found at a street fair that was our annual prize passed down each year with great honors and fanfare. My brother found his name via the internet and then we introduced ourselves. I was lucky enough to hear some old recordings to appreciate his clear, excellent voice. I regret his loss. Christine

The warm and happy memories of the joy and friendship Rocco has given me go back nearly forty years. I am sorry to hear of his passing and sorrier still that I was unable to attend his funeral. Many times, when I was in town, I'd drop by the house and leave a message on the basement door. He never failed to call and say he was sorry he missed me. I mourn his passing.

If my name does not ring a bell LaVergne & Michael should remember the crazy girl who always showed up on her bicycle.

Please accept my sympathy and prayers.

All my love,

Rocco was a great singer/entertainer! I vaguely remember the hit "Sweet Grass" and the establishment he played near Belmont and Lotus in Chicago, where I lived two blocks away.

"The Kid's A Dreamer" was just one of his songs. Rocco was an insperation to me during those difficult years when you go from being a teenager to an adult. He still is 44 years later. There is no telling how many other young people are successful today because of him. I am sure the number is high.To have Rocco as a relative was, I am sure, an honor for each of you and I know that he will be missed by all. We are never really gone from this world as long as someone remembers us and Rocco will be around for a long time to come. Rocco is in that place he sang about, "My Old Home Town".
