Robert Wegrzyn Obituary
Robert "Bob" Walter Wegrzyn, age 76, of Cross Roads, TX by way of Chicago (Hegewisch), IL passed away on December 24, 2024. He was born on September 26, 1948, to Walter J. and Margaret A. Wegrzyn in Chicago, IL.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dorothy Wegrzyn (Stessl); his son, Jim Wegrzyn (Julie M. Lange) of Frisco, TX; his daughter, Julie A. Wegrzyn of Chicago, IL; his precious grandchildren, Georgie Kyriakakis, Payton Wegrzyn, and Jimmy Wegrzyn; his sister, Sue Wegrzyn (Patty), and Margaret (Bob) Luedke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert was a distinguished veteran of Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He worked at Shell Oil, St. Margarets Hospital and ultimately had retired from Unilever after twenty years. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan, and he could often be seen solving several crossword puzzles every day.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Margaret Wegrzyn.

Bob and I enjoyed sitting at Steve's Lounge and over a few beers exchange stories of the old days in Hegewisch. He knew my parents well and being avid readers would exchange paperbacks regularly. Bob was a true gentleman, a dear friend to me and my departed parents and I will miss him.Kevin McQuaid
