Bob was a powerful and positive influence on many lives, mine included; probably more than he ever knew. My deepest sympathy to the family.

If you are a guy like me, you'll be lucky if you meet a man like Robert once in your lifetime. I guess Mr. Wagner could have called me a problem, but instead he called me a project. I mean who else could have made a punk kid from the streets of Bridgeport drink red wine at room temperature, order his steak medium rare, and watch golf on television. He even had me wearing a coat and tie to dinner (I had to or else I couldn't get in). Roberts loss does leave me a little mad at him though. I would of liked to have won at least one arguement with him (I was something like 0-350). Now don't get me wrong about this fine gentleman, he did have one large fault---he was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. And don't think that its a coincidence that he and Jack Buck departed in the same week. Him and J.B. have a lot of catching up to do. Robert J. Wagner may be gone forever, but his words of wisdom, his dark dry humor, and his old school personality will stay with me forever. What Bob taught me about life, no textbook or University every could. My prayers to you and you family.

I briefly worked with Bob when he was at Amoco.

Mary Clark

Despite traveling extensively and caring for six of his own kids, Uncle Bob took the time to make each of his neices and nephews - and then grandneices and grandnephew - feel very special. Receiving humorous postcards from his overseas trips and shooting hoops with him (though he claimed he once played for the New York Knicks) are some of my most cherished memories. Uncle Bob, thank you for making some wonderful childhood memories.

Love,

Mary (Wagner) Clark & Family
