Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge about Shaw and Shakespeare with me and my students. I miss you.

Bob trained me way back in the 90s when Chicago Sheakespeare was still Shakespeare Rep- one of the Holy Trinity- Barbara, Bob and Kate. Great teacher loved my bawdy interpretation of Shakespeare scenes. Beautiful honest fun loving man with a passion for what he did. May he rest in peace- or rather, continue to run Shakespeare plays in heaven- Raymond Yust

"Scog" and I were close friends while at Florence State College. I recall his advice and support when I was not at all sure of myself. We both loved and learned from our professor and sponsor of the "The Rehearsal Club, Miss Gladys Shepherd.
We were also just farmboys from Alabama when we entered college. Although we have not been in touch for many years, I do declare him to have been one of the most outstanding personalities that has crossed my life. Lights out, dear friend.

I was very fortunate to know him and am deeply saddened by this news. I took one of his classes and was positively charmed by his steadfast application of the rules on "how to speak the speech" for classical texts. He had a fun funny unique way of speaking while teaching that was simultaneously eloquent and plain - always sticking to his rubric. I nearly had the chance to work with him as my director too and wish we'd made it happen instead of letting "things got busy" get in the way. He was a treasure to the theatre community! I miss his warm smile and energy already :) God bless, warmest thoughts and vibes to his family and closest.

Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.
May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.

I am Rob Lamont, I took classes with Bob and found him to be kind and accurate in evaluation of my performance. I auditioned for him and was chosen for a part but had a conflict and was not able to accept. To the family Joy cometh in the morning. Peace and Joy to all. Did he finish his book? Mention the answer at the celebration.
