Robert Kipps Obituary

Robert Lee "Bobby" Kipps, age 74, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, January 31, 2006, at a local nursing home.

Mr. Kipps was born on September 12, 1932, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Alfred and Lottie Mae Farmer Kipps. He was a Salesman at B & M Chevrolet and Stutzman Chevrolet for 25 years. After leaving Stutzman Chevrolet, he was co-owner of Home Towne Auto Sales until his retirement. Mr. Kipps was a past member of Winchester Jaycees and the Antique Automobile Association. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the United States Marine Corps. He attended Handley High School.

His wife, Gloria Marie Nesmith Kipps, whom he married on August 3, 1954 in Hagerstown, Maryland, preceded him in death on January 7, 1998.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda M. Roberts of Winchester, Virginia, and Tina R. Roberts of New Market, Virginia, and three grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home - Amherst Chapel, with Rev. Henry Tichnor officiating. Entombment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, on Thursday evening following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, VA 22601.
