Jorfe, Robert Joseph 58, of Crestwood, died August 30, 2013, after a valiant 18 month battle with throat cancer. Beloved son of Theresa (Rudolph) Unger and the late Robert Jorfe; brother to Jean Marie (Robert) Heniff, and Rita (Claude) Shanklin; uncle to many nieces and nephews; and cousin to many; good friend to John Hinde and Jeff Jarosky. Special thanks to his nurse Violet and caregiver Natasha. A 1973 graduate of Brother Rice High School, where he competed on the wrestling team; served as a proud U.S. Marine; Owner/Operator of the R.J. Transport Co. Bob was a musician, fisherman, sailor, and lover of fine foods; he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends will gather Saturday, September 14 at St. Julie Billiart Church, 7399 W. 159th St. Tinley Park, IL, at 11:15 a.m. for a memorial visitation and Marine Corp Tribute following a noon Funeral Mass. Hey babe. Saw Vieques on the news last week and memories of you flooded my mind for days. Thought I'd try another search to see if I could finally find you again, hoping maybe this time fate would be on our side. Heartbroken to land on this site, but then, I guess its not too much of a surprise. Our timing was always off and unfortunately, it looks like that pattern held true. I was shocked to hear of your passing almost one year later. And thought at least you may have called to say your were sick for so long. Looking back at all the fun times during high school and later years with music etc. hard to believe you are gone.
