Robert Gora Obituary
Robert "Bob" Mitchell Gora, 68, son of the late Mitchell and Wanda Gora, passed away on December 4, 2020. Beloved husband of 35 years to Graciela. Robert is survived by his wife Graciela, daughter Rachel (Nick), son Bobby; treasured grandfather to Nathan; dearest brother of Louise (Ted) Jablonski, Mitchell (Janet) Gora and Janice Deignan; cherished brother-in-law of Virginia Knight, Marie Cuevas and Martin (Cathy) Cuevas; beloved uncle, great uncle, cousin, friend and coach to many. Bob attended St. Hedwig Elementary School and Lane Tech High School before entering the Air Force where he was honorably discharged as a Tech Sergeant of Communications after 8 years of service. Bob had a long career with I.D.O.T., faithfully keeping the streets clean from snow and ice. Bob was happiest on the baseball field where he shared his love of the game with his children and many others. He was a lifelong Cubs and Blackhawks fan. He always knew how to make an entrance and keep everyone laughing. His smile will be missed by all who knew and met him for he made a lasting impression. Visitation Friday, December 11, 2020, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Matz Funeral Home, 3440 N. Central Ave., Chicago. Funeral services Saturday, December 12 at 10:00 am at Matz Funeral Home with interment to follow at Maryhill Cemetery. For info: 847-394-2336.
