Getz, Robert Byrne March 24, 1966 - June 14, 2007 Rob, grandson of the late Oscar and Emma Getz of Chicago, died on June 14, 2007, losing his courageous fight, almost 12 years after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Me and my family are are so sorry for your loss. Rob was one of my best friends and we enjoyed so many fun times together growing up on Meadow Drive in Wilmette. Both of us being the youngest brothers of renown, fantastic, free spirited families was our common bond. Not many 10 year old kids were hanging out after school listening to the Allman Brothers like Rob and I used to. Even though it was so long ago I remember a how Rob always was smiling and how he always seemed to have fun no matter what he was doing. You will be greatly missed.

To The Getz Family,
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your son, Robbie. Having a son of my own, I can somewhat understand the grief you must be going through. Rob's brave fight for his life has sadly ended. We can only know that he is peaceful now. His attitude and smile will surely be missed by all.
In Deepest Sympathy for your families,

Getz Family - I am very sorry for your loss. I didn't know Rob personally, but I have known the Getz family through my mother, Shirley Goldman, who was employed by Emma Getz. I have heard many a wonderful story about all the grandchildren over the years. Again I am sorry for your great loss. I have been trying to locate Bill and Marilyn for awhle. If someone could contact me, I would appreciate it.

Dear Getz Family,
No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.
I cannot believe what I am reading.
It seems like yesterday that I was picking him up for a visit to Gram's house, or dropping him off at Dad's for dinner.
May the peace of God keep him and give him eternal rest.
