Gelms, Robert K. age 84, WWII Army Air Corps Veteran, beloved husband of the late Virginia (nee Nally), devoted father of Robert P. (Terry), Peggy, the late William, Nancy (David) Cargill, Jeanne (the late Theo) Lambrakos, Kathy (Steve) Lettiere, and Julie Gelms, proud grandfather of Caryn, Virginia, Bridget, Sara, Matt, Theo, Anthony, Nicholas, Jake, Brandon, and Ashley, cherished great-grandfather of Theo and Allison, loving brother of Kenneth (Joan) Gelms, dear brother-in-law of Anna Mae (the late Edward) Nowak, and the late Eileen (Jack) Clarke, cherished uncle of many. Visitation Tuesday, from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, to St. Thomas More Church, Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Dear Kathy and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Our Dad's were great friends and the memories from St.Thomas More, the choir and of course the Echolers - a bunch of "old" guys getting together every couple of months - will always live on. Your Dad and the whole group really were a lot of fun. I'm sure they're all having a great time once again.
