We have just learned of Bob's death and extend our deepest sympathies to the entire family. We grew up with Bob & Paul in Hyde Park and knew his parents as well. We met with him several years ago for the planning of the Bret Harte Grammar School reunion, and had delightful visits with him then and at the reunion activities. He was always a gentleman and a gentle man with a wry sense of humor. Again, our heartfelt condolences to you all.

Dear Karen,

I opened the paper today and saw your dad's picture. My sincerest sympathy to you and your family. Though I only met him once (20 years ago in your apt on Dearborn), he was exceedingly gracious and it was clear that he cared deeply for his daughter.

I just wanted you all to know how touched we are to see all these nice things written about our Dad. We of course already knew he was the greatest, but it's still nice to read about it.

Dear Alan & Karen,

The loss of your father certainly will be remembered by all of his friends. He was a very close friend of mine and we talked over the phone most every week. I met him thru my wife Lovie who was a classmate of his at Grinnell College and of course continued our friendship in Scottsdale/Phoenix with annual mini-reunions. I am certainly glad that several of us had a luncheon visit with him in Scottsdale this past February. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Alan--

I remember your Dad Bob very well and very fondly from the many enjoyable interactions we had during my many years in retail sales at the RadioShack store at Clark and Adams. He always had a twinkle in his eye, a smile on his lips and lots of friendly banter to offer. To put it simply, he was a nice man. And through him, I had the pleasure of meeting you.

Sincerely,

Marty Gerendasy
