Robert Ettleman Obituary
Dr. Robert Bruce Ettleman passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23rd, on his 69th birthday, in Tampa, Florida. Rob, a dentist known as "Dr. E", created Gulf Coast Dental Outreach with Janet, after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. This is a community dental project that has helped hundreds of low-income patients afford quality dental care. Rob was a radio-controlled plane enthusiast and an avid boater for his entire life. Beloved husband to Janet, adored father to Lee (Caren), and loving Zayde to Lavi, Jonah and Romi. Rob is survived by his sister, Joyce Bonnett and predeceased by brother, Kenneth, and his parents, Ben and Evelyn Ettleman. A graveside service will be Thursday, Jan 26 at Westlawn Cemetery in Norridge, Illinois at 1:30pm and over Zoom. A memorial service will be Monday, Jan 30 at Temple Ahavat Shalom in Palm Harbor, Florida at 3pm. Traditional Shiva will be held in Deerfield, Ill. Thurs-Sunday and in Tampa Monday-Wednesday. I just visited the last home Rob and Janet shared together and it was an incredible tribute to all that Rob loved- a multitude of photo memories of their beautiful family times together and views from every window of his beloved waterways where he enjoyed boating. I can see why Rob loved living in Tampa near all this water! It made me happy to see what a beautiful life he and Janet had together in Tampa! His memory lives on and a new grandson was just born with whom his memory will be displayed and shared for a lifetime!
With love to Janet and gratitude for all she did and continues to do to support Parkinson´s and all that Rob loved.

Thoughts are with you and your family, Janet, as we approach the one year anniversary and what would have been Rob´s 70th Birthday. I am sure Rob has been missed terribly by you and his entire family and many friends. I enjoyed Rob´s company in high school and beyond. Rob was my Prom date and he was very involved in our Interact Service Club at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School.
He was a lot of fun to be around, and he had a great sense of humor. I also admired his humanitarian efforts along with Janet in serving the community of Tampa, FL and surrounds with the Gulf Coast Dental Outreach. He will be sorely missed by our circle of friends. Our sincere condolences go out to Janet and his beautiful family. We know they will miss him so very much too.
