Birkenheier, Robert J. age 64, of Northfield, beloved husband of Janice (nee Klos), dear father of Diane (Brian) Carroll, Joseph (Julie), Richard and Susan, loving grandfather of Jeremy, fond brother of Lorraine, the late Emil, Jr. (Patricia), and Gerald (Suzanne). Visitation Friday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Haben Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Funeral Saturday, 10:15 a.m., from the funeral home, for Mass, 10:30a.m., at St. Peter Church, Skokie. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Suite 145, Park Ridge, IL 60068 (www.rainbowhospice.org) or Cancer Care Center, P.O. Dear Family Members, my deepest condolences to you. Bob was a very good friend and golfing buddy of mine. Birkey, as I called him will always be remembered. I'm sorry I can't make the wake, I just had surgery on Wednesday 5/20. Please enjoy his (Birkey's) memories.
