Robert Berghoff Obituary

Berghoff, Sr., Robert Anderson Age 78, at rest on May 10, 2016. Beloved husband of Carolyn (née Kremsner) for 54 years; loving father of Robert A., M.D. (Heather), Christopher J. (Loretta) and Peter G. Berghoff; proud grandfather of Anna, Tess, Evan, Taylor, Samantha and Halle; devoted son of the late Doris (née Anderson) and John C. Berghoff; dear brother of John C., Jr. (Jean) and Paul H. (Kathryn) Berghoff; "Uncle Bob" was also loved by his many nieces and nephews. Born May 25, 1937 in Chicago, he was a lifelong south sider and Chicago White Sox fan. Bob was an alumnus of South Shore H.S. (1955), Northwestern University (1959), and University of Chicago Law School (1962). A practicing attorney for over 50 years and member of the Chicago Bar Association, he was active in numerous civic, religious and charitable organizations. He served on the boards of the Beverly Area Planning Association, BIA, the Beverly Arts Center, Morgan Park H.S. Community Council, Washington Jane Smith Home and Smith Senior Living, Swedish Covenant Hospital, Princeton Children's Home and the Covenant Board of Benevolence. Bob will be remembered by his family and friends for his gentleness, honesty and integrity, generosity and goodwill. Visitation on Friday, May 20th, 3:00 - 9:00 p.m., at Curley Funeral Home (Heeney-Laughlin Directors), 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge. Funeral Service on Saturday, May 21st, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 9848 S. Winchester Ave., Chicago, IL 60643, Rev. Donald K. Nelson officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
