(nee Egan). Adoring wife of the late Gerald ("Jerry") Flanagan. Cherished mother of Cook County Circuit Court Judge Kathy M. Flanagan. Devoted daughter of the late William and the late Mary (nee Powers) Egan. Fond sister of the late Mary Egan, the late John (the late Patricia), the late William (the late Kathleen, best friend as well as sister-in-law), the late Margaret Egan, and the late Helen (the late George) Houlihan. Dear daughter-in-law of the late Michael and the late Margaret Flanagan, and sister-in-law of the late John (the late Geraldine) Flanagan, the late Thomas Flanagan, Robert Flanagan, and Rita (the late John) Keough. Treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her daughter expresses many thanks for the kind and wonderful care given to her by Dr. David R. Buyer, niece JoAnn Egan, Kate Augustin, Lois Greybar, and neighbors James and Diane Lacki, as well as the compassionate, tender and respectful hospice care given by Stephanie Newell, Maegan Fookes, and chaplain Evan Goranson of Heartland Hospice Care, Frankfort, IL. Visitation Friday 3 – 9 p.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy and Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL for both Rita and Jerry, who passed away May 6, 2020, due to COVID restrictions no services were held at that time. Funeral Saturday 10:30 a.m. from Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home to Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 W. 131st Street, Orland Park, IL, Mass 11:15 a.m. Interment private. Kathy, I remember your mother (and dad) very well. I am Therese Hayes' cousin. You were in my parents' house a few times. Rita was a very memorable lady - pretty, funny, easy to talk to - just a doll! Very sorry for your huge loss.

I'm so sorry Kathy to hear about your mom and best friends passing. Be grateful for the many good years you've had together for your entire life. Take comfort that her suffering is over and she's reunited with your Dad Jerry where they will continue to watch over and guide you until you are reunited again.
