One of my dearest friends, the most talented member of the Pirate Dorm at 1365 East 60th, the Orthogenic School, where he did not belong one bit. Terrific sense of humor. Not exactly blessed with loving sisters, Younkers Restaurant was his dad´s. Richard was unforgettable. And loving.

On this day I am remembering a friend, or should I say a family member. That is what Rich became to the Putman family he visited often. Through the talks with Judy and the wonderful memories Richard will never be forgotten.

Dear Judith, family & friends - When we would run into Richard & Hutch on our daily walks it was always a treat. Hutch with his beautiful hair & quiet disposition. And Richard with his fantastic & intricate stories. I always had to ask "one more question . . ." Over the years we shared the loss & sorrow over Hutch's goodbye & then our sweet Bam Bam & Maybe. But Richard has now gone to this fabulous reunion of those that have gone before us, including those special fur babies. Give everyone a hug & kiss for us Richard. While you will be greatly missed by all of us here that knew you, I know how happy others were to see you arrive in your new destination. With much love to all & sharing my deepest sympathy. We have fond memories of Richard on his many walks with his devoted dog, Hutch when we lived on Seeley. When we moved a few blocks away, we were fortunate to have him pass by our new house. He was so kind, knowledgeable, and always had a great story to share. He will be dearly missed. Sending hugs and prayers to Judy and family.

Richard came into our lives many years ago, and changed how many people would look at a Mississippi fisherman!! I can remember when he traveled to our small town along the Mississippi and visited with my father. He became apart of our family and he will be missed by all "A Yanking and Pulling Their Whole Lives" a book that Richard wrote is a tribute to our family. Rest in peace Richard and I know Rich and my father are visiting again, talking about the old Mississippi

The righteous one has perished, But no one takes it to heart. Loyal men are taken away, With no one discerning that the righteous one has been taken away Because of the calamity. He enters into peace. They rest on their beds, all who walk uprightly. Isaiah 57:1-2

I'm sure going to miss Richard and I am thankful for all he contributed to that small class of 6th graders back in 1963-64. I was lucky enough to have continued my friendship with him for the rest of his life and in my heart for the rest of mine. I know I am a much better human being for having known him.
