Marlene and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you as I just learned of Rick's death today, and hope that only the fondest, best memories carry you on in all your days ahead. It has been a long time since I met you both in the late 60s-early 70s when you were part of our young set at WGN. I saw each of you, and Rick's mom, Gloria, daily for years as we all worked at WGN and still carry nothing but pleasant memories of each of you. Yes Rick still has that winning, pleasant smile we all remember. I now know where his next adventure was - WTTW. Everyone liked working with Rick ... and you. It looks like I will keep memories going ... thanks to your sharing the names of his pets. I now now that I need one more pet in my lifetime, and its name will be Snickers. God bless each of you. May life always be good to you.

My deepest condolences, Rich was a great guy and I hope the memories help the family to get through this dark time. I didn't work directly with Rich at WTTW but he always had the time to shoot the breeze for a couple of minutes. I'm sorry for the loss of your love. Manny Garcia

It is with great sadness that I hear of your loss, Marlene. Ricky, aka The Fonz, was a great friend to me. At WTTW, his good nature was always a calm in the storm of TV production. For me, he was a source for "another perspective". I have had the privilege to enjoy his efforts and friendship. He will be missed.

Thank you for posting that particular photo of Rick - that's the smile he always had for everyone! I worked with "Fonzie" for many many years at WTTW. He always made my day just by being who he was!

Marlene, while our time to know each other was short, Bob and I so enjoyed your company with breakfasts, dinners and bus rides. We so enjoyed our times with you. Ellen had a great hour with Rich while we did "time-out" at one of the castles. We so enjoyed our time with you both.
God Bless.

Rick, you had a smile on your face every time I encountered you at WTTW, the happiest guy at the company and a constant reminder not to take our selves or our job too seriously. Keep smilin', J.Davies
