Hello Weiler Family,
Marguerite Hoyt and I send you our best thoughts and wishes for peace. Rich was a special guy, and I have many good memories of your father. He was always kind to me, as was your mother. For that, and for being such good neighbors to my mom for so many years, I am truly grateful to both of them and will remember them fondly always.

My deepest condolences to the Weiler Family. My father (Ed Hunter) worked with Mr. Weiler on the CFD in "the good old days", and I remember my Dad telling us stories about "Richie's" work as a referee.

In later years, my Mom and I would see your Mom and Dad at Veli's Kofy Kup in Oak Lawn.

Your parents are now reunited in heaven, as are mine, and I'll bet our Dads are having a great time telling firehouse stories.

Weiler Family
Your dad was a terrific mentor to a lot of officials across the country. He was a lot more than that to me. He was a friend who took a great interest in not only me but also the well being of my family. He was especially supportive during my time of need after the death of Joanne. He was there with a phone call or a pat on the back showing not only his concern but also lending a shoulder to lean on. I will truly miss our conversations about not only basketball, but sharing his pride about his family's accomplishemts. You have my deepest sympathy. You are in my thoughts and prayers. He will live on through you, his family.
