Bwani was my only living grandfather for most of my life. Maybe not by blood but in both our hearts. We spent so much time together and he treated me as his own. I was so lucky to have him and to spend almost every Sunday together growing up getting jelly donuts and a single rose for my grandmother. Those drives into town in his Buick and over the bridge are some of my most fond childhood memories. He loved our gram more than anything and their relationships was so special to our family. I will cherish so much of our time together whether it was playing paddle ball, tic tac toe, checkers, family dinners, many of sleep overs, watching him row on his favorite machine, or him teaching me how to floss using use the water pick. My gram was the best cook but bwani was the grillmaster. Although he is gone, I am forever grateful for him treating me like his own and our relationship. I hope you are resting peacefully. Love you, Bwani

As Ellie's husband of almost 40 years, Richard was a loving step father, grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and father-in law to her family. We loved him dearly. He will be remembered and missed by us all, especially by the love of his life, Ellie.

Richard was an honorable and kind hearted man. He was a wonderful husband to my mom, Ellie. They lived a charmed life in their beautiful home over the bridge, on the ravines. They enjoyed their trips around the world from the Galapagos Islands to Africa.
Richard was an incredible step-father to me but more importantly he was an kind, loving and generous grandfather to my children, Zach (Julia), Jenna (Brian) and Alexandra. They will forever have the fondest memories of sleep overs and play dates with their beloved "Bwani".
Rest in peace.
