Richard Torpe Obituary

Torpe, Richard G. beloved husband of the late Kathleen (nee Bruno), loving father of Charles (Meg) and Jill (Michael) Reiman, devoted grandfather of Evelyn, loyal brother-in-law to Bob Bruno, cherished uncle-in-law to Mandy Bruno, adored by many relatives and friends. Richard spent 34 years working for New York Life as an underwriter he was also active politically; at age 23 he was the youngest elected official in the state of illinois. He was a trustee in the Village of Elmwood Park for 29 years and an acting Village President from 1987 to 1989. Flowers are welcomed or in lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago. For information: 312-243-2000 or www.lungchicago.org/.
