It's hard to think a year has already gone by without you. There isn't a day that's gone by without you in my thoughts and it hasn't gotten any easier. But I know on those days when I feel like I have nothing left, your there giving me that extra push to keep moving along. Missing you more and more each and everyday. I wish you were here to hug and kiss. I love you grandpa. I will forever be your little weazel.

Dad a year has passed since we stood by your side,
A gift and an honor as we said our goodbye's .
September 6th will never be the same,
for we now all know that's the day God called your name.
It has been a long dark year without you here,
not a day goes by that we don't shed a tear.

We miss our talks that we had at your home,
leaving us to feel heartbroken and alone.
We'd sit there and talk my mentor and link,
never knowing you would be gone in a blink.

We use to look forward to the end of the day,
he'd walk through the door and you would have something to say.
You would sit there so happy awaiting your prey,
dropping your comments leaving him nothing to say.

Working and wrenching side by side,
a life long bond that will never be untied.

We would ask how you were and you would say I'm alright,
sparing us from the pain of your brave cancer fight.

There are no more wussup's when we call your phone,
a bitter reminder that you are now gone.

It always seemed when we were at the end of our rope,
you were the one who was giving us hope.

You were a guider, provider, protector and friend,
we will love and miss you until we see you again.

I have fond memories of Uncle Richard when I was growing up in a close knit extended family. I rmember the joyful chaos of holiday dinners at grandmas with the cousins. I remember a man with a huge heart. I appreciate how he was there for my father when he needed him and am glad to have at least gotten to see him again at my dad's funeral a few years ago. Farewell, Rich. See you down the road a bit.

Hey fella,
I think back at all the times you used to be sitting on the couch waiting for me to come thru the door so you could make fun of me or cut me up about something i did or said, and then you would sit back an laugh. How i wish i could see and hear that laugh again.
I know now that everytime i worked on something at the house and you were looking over my shoulder and double checking my work, it wasn't that you didn't trust me ,but that you were making sure that the things would be done right and the way you wanted when you were gone.
I will never come close to filling your shoes, but i promise you that i will do my best to takecare of things that need to be fixed, and watch over mom like you would and help her with whatever she needs.
I hope that someday i can be half the father and grandfather that you were.Don't forget you broke your promise to me and we will meet again someday and then oooooooooooooooooooooooo are you going to get a beating.
love and miss you tons fella!!!!!!!

Dad I just want to let you know that you were the most selfless and gallant warrior I have ever known. I missed you instantly and I am looking forward to the day that I can hug and hold you again. Our home will never be the same without you. One comforting feeling that I receive when I look at my children is that I know that you live on and will always be there for us. I love you so much dad, until we meet again.

Uncle Richard,

We have many fond memories of a close knit family. The years have gone bye fast and the times were good and bad. You have left a permanent signature on this earth in so many great ways. The people you have touched are better for it and I am sorry for some of the lost years that took us in different directions. You will be missed and in our hearts forever. May Heaven be a better place now that another member of our family is shining down on us all! Your sense of honor will be carried on by those you have smiled upon.

Dear Ones:
We send our love and prayers for God's comforting Spirit to be with you during this time of sorrow. As I read the names listed in Richard's obituary, I thank God for the legacy of love and devotion that he and Joanne initiated back in the 60's when they married. This loving couple has multipled their love time and time again and their example of love to God and family has blessed us all.
