Richard Rapavi Obituary

My sister and I were just talking about Rick Patton, when we were kids, listening to the radio in the 70s. He let my sister intro a song on the air. She still has the cassette recording of it! Very fond memories! I wanted to look him up. I'd moved away from Chicago, and did not hear of his passing. He really does live on in our memories.

I loved rick on wait and wjjd especially lunchtime specials in the early 80's.I trust he trusted Jesus Christ as his Savoir and I will see him in Heaven Thomas Hendricks

Oh, Sukie, I am so sorry for your loss, which exceeds mine. Rick was a very VERY good man. I played a lot of rounds of golf with him, including the one where he couldn't find the watch you had given him. He was so distraught, and we spent so much time looking for that because we knew what it meant to him. How grateful I am to have crossed paths with Rick, and to have attended your wedding meeting you, Suki. My prayers go to you and your family; and to Rick, whom I shall hope to see someday in heaven.

I just learned of Rick's death. Please accept my sympathies. I used to work with Rick at WJJD and also WAIT. We had some great times together in the biz. I do have a photo of Rick at WAIT if you would like to have it.

I was so saddened to hear of Richard's passing. I didn't know him for many years but was grateful for the time I was able to call him my friend. He will forever hold a special place in my heart. He was truly a gentle man amongst gentlemen. I remember the night we had dinner together and how he talked of you with such love and admiration. Even though he is no longer here physically he will always be close to you every time you talk about him or think of him. You truly have your own precious guardian angel. My deepest condolences to you and Richard's children. God bless you all.
