Sylvan Basinger Obituary
He was born July 24, 1927, to Noah and Frona Prollock Basinger in Roundup. In 1945, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served for over 20 years until retirement. On his return to Roundup, he worked at the post office for years, retiring in 1987. On Jan. 25, 1986, he married Daisy Ewen.
He is survived by his wife; son Michael of Alaska; sister Florence Wacker of Roundup; stepson Bob (Cheri) Ewen of Great Falls; stepdaughter Pam (Dean) Thorson of Alaska; and step-grandchildren Glenn Thorson, Kelly Landin, Mari Lazenby, Andrew Thorson, Nicole Ewen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Alvin, Clifford and Vern; and his sisters, Adelia Lambert, Edith Giglia, Lorene Zimmerman, Betty Hickey and Carol Hopkins.
Per his wishes, he has been cremated and no services planned.
Memorials may be made to Rocky Mountain Hospice or charity of your choice.
