Hoigard, Richard "Dick" H. 69, devoted husband of Kathryn, loving father of Kurt (Joan) Hoigard and Lynn (Kevin) Patti, doting grandpa to Charlotte, Allison and Lillian (who knew him as "Ponka"), dear brother of Patsy (Clark) Phillips and Rosalie Morgan and brother-in-law of Kenneth (Phyllis) Osterman. Dick passed away at Hinsdale Hospital on July 22, after a 1½ year battle with cancer. He was active for all but the last two weeks of his life, continuing to enjoy his family, hobbies and vacationing in central Wisconsin. As a 45 year member of Local 1 of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Dick was an extremely talented welder and metal working craftsman. His capabilities as a mechanic and restorer of vintage automobiles were best showcased in the restoration of his 1930 Ford Model A Coupe, and ongoing membership in the Calumet Region Chapter of the Model A Ford Restorer's Club. Known to family, friends and neighbors as "Mr. Fix-it", Dick shared his talents, good nature and charm with those around him and will be missed by many. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 9 p.m., at Lack & Sons Funeral Home, 9236 S. Roberts Rd. (8000 W.), Hickory Hills.
